Holiday House Tour

I thought I'd share some of Breezy Green decorated for the holidays. I love this time of year when we can use twinkle lights and throws and enjoy the warmth of our homes. It is a special time of year, isn't it? But, first, here are some pics of my friend's home from her Holiday party last night. I hope we inspire you if you need some inspiration and a little egg nog...Tis' the Season!

I love how she coupled vintage soft blue with burlap, browns, and some bold red. If all fits perfectly. And...please excuse the tippy photo!

Engineer prints at your local Staples if the way to go below! They are easy to make and can save you a lot of money on expensive prints for your home. Don't pass up vintage thermoses. They have so many uses...one being to sit on a mantle with greens and twinkle lights.

My friend has a knack for finding cool stuff! Whenever we went flea marketing, she'd find a great pair of Frye boots, or Hunter boots, always in her size. These old signs below are a classic tale of her great luck with vintage scores! My son is William and I wanted to steal the sign. Her last name is Forti. Hmm...Can't we just saw it in 1/2? ;).

Below: A bar was set up in her garage! Drop cloths and piping made a perfect space for people to mingle and make a Holiday beverage.

Breezy Green: Below I tapped into my Swedish roots and made a gingerbread house. But, don't let this fool you! It is wooden with caulking for frosting and glitter glass for sparkle.

Peppermint sticks are a Christmas staple in our home. I found these big ones at the Dollar Tree. They will be perfect for making peppermint bark and tying on gifts.

I have a thing for kitchen towels. I can't seem to have enough of them. I found brand new ones at a church consignment shop fresh out of the box. I couldn't believe it! I snatched up several.

Wreaths are everywhere! I put them on all of the extra chairs around my home.

More to come...Happy Holidays!

Breezy Green- Pre-Holiday Decorating

Welcome to Breezy Green! Our home. Our renovation project that lasted approximately 2 years and is still going... I guess a home is never truly finished. There is always, always something to do.

Yes, our house has a name. Does yours? We call it Breezy Green after its location. The name fits as it breezy here all of the time.

Below I made a sign for our foyer. I bought the trim at the Restore and the pine board was a spare in the house. A black Sharpie finished off this sign. If you have a saying that you'd like, it's really easy to do! Just write it in pencil first. Let your hands to the writing. It does NOT have to be perfect!

In August, I got back to knitting.I'm not very good at sitting so this forced me to relax on my last month off of summer vacation. I'm still working on this blanket, but it's fun and a skill that once learned, you can't forget it.

My favorite project this summer. This was a gun cabinet found on the side of the road. I painted it and my husband added the shelves, which are very seasoned boards from the shed.
